For nature lovers, the Ontignano waterfall is a must-visit destination.
Its extraordinary landscape setting<\/strong>, allows you to spend moments contemplating nature<\/strong> although not far from the city.<\/p>\n

The Waterfall, about 6 meters high, is fed by the Sambre, a torrential watercourse that originates on Mount Fanna at Le Pozzole, elevation 530 meters, and gives rise to the waterfall at its confluence with the C\u00f9cina stream.<\/p>\n

It is possible to reach the site by walking along a pleasant dirt path from Via di Ontignano, a picturesque road immersed in the woods and olive groves<\/strong> of the Sambre Valley. In the village of Ontignano, at the first driveway bridge crossing the waterfall, there is a spring, with several small springs.<\/p>\n

During the summer months and periods of low rainfall, the Sambre, and consequently the waterfall, tends to decrease in water flow.<\/p>\n
