In 1927, it became the property of Myron C. Taylor, the United States Ambassador to the Holy See, who restored the villa to house his art collection. Leveraging the landscape’s morphology, he created expansive classical gardens on three terraces at different levels. Fountains, statues, pools, still-functioning sundials, and many decorations enrich the environment. Later, the villa was donated to Pius XII and remained a Church’s possession for some time, hosting a college for young Americans studying in Florence. Since 1986, it has belonged to the Italian State, which has made it one of the locations of the European University Institute..

[/et_pb_text][/et_pb_column][et_pb_column type=”2_5″ _builder_version=”4.24.2″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_blurb title=”Via Giovanni Boccaccio, 121″ use_icon=”on” font_icon=”||fa||900″ icon_color=”#000000″ icon_placement=”left” image_icon_width=”22px” _builder_version=”4.24.2″ _module_preset=”default” header_font=”Raleway|600|||||||” header_text_align=”left” header_font_size=”18px” body_font=”Raleway||||||||” body_text_color=”#000000″ body_line_height=”1em” hover_transition_duration=”0ms” hover_enabled=”0″ global_colors_info=”{}” sticky_enabled=”0″]

lat. 43.47540 – long. 11.16534

[/et_pb_blurb][et_pb_blurb title=”Days and opening hours” use_icon=”on” font_icon=”||fa||900″ icon_color=”#000000″ icon_placement=”left” image_icon_width=”22px” _builder_version=”4.24.2″ _module_preset=”default” header_font=”Raleway|600|||||||” header_text_align=”left” header_font_size=”18px” body_font=”Raleway||||||||” body_text_color=”#000000″ body_line_height=”1em” hover_transition_duration=”0ms” global_colors_info=”{}”]

[/et_pb_blurb][et_pb_blurb title=”Contacts” use_icon=”on” font_icon=”||fa||900″ icon_color=”#000000″ icon_placement=”left” image_icon_width=”22px” _builder_version=”4.24.2″ _module_preset=”default” header_font=”Raleway|600|||||||” header_text_align=”left” header_font_size=”18px” body_font=”Raleway||||||||” body_text_color=”#000000″ body_line_height=”1em” hover_transition_duration=”0ms” global_colors_info=”{}”]
