The Giovanni Michelucci Foundation was established in 1982 thanks to the initiative of Giovanni Michelucci, a prominent figure in 20th-century Italian architecture, with the support of the Tuscany Region and the municipalities of Pistoia and Fiesole. The Foundation is a research center focusing ,on urban planning and modern and contemporary architecture, , focusing on social structures such as hospitals, prisons, and schools.
Located at Villa “Il Roseto,” the Foundation features sober and elegant architecture complemented by a garden, arranged in terraces. The garden is enriched with paved pathways bordered by flower beds, fruit trees, and olive trees.
