Pietro Porcinai Archive

Via Bandini, 15 Largo Porcinai – Fiesole

Words, pages, projects, letters, documents, studies on landscape, art, botany, history, philosophy and sciences—this is the richness of the Pietro Porcinai Archive. A treasure chest preserving the multitude of works of the landscape architect himself (1910-1986).

The headquarters of the archive is at Villa Rondinelli, a building purchased by Porcinai in 1954 and subsequently used as the headquarters of his studio until he died in 1986.

Pietro Porcinai is considered the greatest paesaggista Italian landscape architect of the 20th century. He designed and carried out landscape arrangements on different scales: from gardens to urban parks, and extensive interventions in industrial, agricultural, and tourist village areas. Among the many projects realized in Italy and various countries around the world, there are also extraordinary landscape gardens where human intervention blends in, allowing the spontaneity of natural elements to prevail.
